I have quickly rewritten the start to the newsletter with the news that Ofsted will be visiting us over the next couple of days. You shouldn't notice anything different although staff are more likely to be a little anxious. It doesn't effect our Christmas dinner or Christmas Jumper day on Wednesday or the Early Years nativity plays on Thursday.
All parents should have received an email with a letter from Ofsted inviting you to share your views of the school.
Well done to Foxes who have made it to the top this week with 97% attendance.
2nd and 3rd could hardly be separated with Otters scoring 95.67% and Woodpeckers scoring 95.33%.
I am very pleased to say that Mrs Hayes has agreed to take the lead on setting up a PTA for the school to help fundraise and create exciting opportunities for the children in the school. We are looking for more volunteers who would like to join us. We are going to host a meeting on Tuesday 14th January at 9am for people to find out more.
A quick reminder that our Anti-bullying Poster competition is still running until after the Christmas break. The closing date is Friday 10th January and it would be a good way to spend some time over the holidays.
Don't forget to complete your Christmas present card with the kind deed that children have done over this festive period.
All completed entries will be entered into a special raffle. The closing date is 10th January so that children can use their Christimas break to find a kind act to complete.
We had a great time at the Panto on Friday. Thank you to all the parents who came along and helped on the day. The children all seemed to enjoy it and loved joining in with call and response and dancing.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Royal British Legion Poppy appeal. Through their merchandise we raised £275.48 which will go to supporting veterans of the armed forces.
Well done to Foxes and Hedgehogs for their amazing performances of Christmas with the Aliens. With their fabulous singing, acting and dancing, they had everyone enthralled and filled us all with Christmas spirit.
Well done to all the children who have worked so hard over the past few weeks; the staff who have helped them prepare; families who helped them practise their lines and to everyone who joined us to watch the plays.
And a big thank you to everyone who gave us a donation for their tickets.
Early Years Nativity - Grasshoppers and Butterflies
It will soon be the turn of Caterpillars, Butterflies and Grasshoppers to put on their Christmas performances.
Caterpillars will be hosting their own version of the nativity story at 10am on Thursday in their classroom. Parents can come to their normal drop-off doors to access the room.
Then Butterflies and Grasshoppers will be performing the Wriggly Nativity in the main hall at 11am on Thursday. Parents will need to come to the main school entrance to gain access.
Unfortunately we do need to restrict tickets to 2 per child due to the number of children taking part.
On Wednesday 18th December we will be raising money for Save the Children by wearing our Christmas Jumpers that day and donating towards the charity. It is not the charities chosen day but we have aligned it with our Christmas Dinner day to make it extra festive. Children will wear their normal uniform but change their red jumper / cardigan for a festive one.
