Well done to Foxes who have led the way for the last two weeks with great attendances of 97.3% and 97.7%. Grasshoppers were not far behind this week with 96.7% and Woodpeckers were 3rd with 93%.
Woodpeckers are still ahead in the overall yearly attendance with 96.3%.
We encourage everyone to sign up for the Studybugs app. This is the quickest and easiest way to let us know if your child is going to be absent from school and allows you to see your child's attendance over the year.
We are going to be hosting a TT Rockstars Day on Friday 7th February. Children are invited to dress as a rock star (or any other music genre) and wigs and accessories are welcome. We will obviously be working hard on our times tables that day, but also other types of maths activities too.
Woodpeckers Class will have the opportunity to take part in Bikeability training on Monday 7th March.
This course is for children who can already ride their bike confidently without stabilisers and lasts for 2 hours long.
The whole session will be on the playground and introduces skills and practices for future road riding through games and fun activites.
Children will need to bring in their own bikes. (in good condition checked against our bike checklist). The organisers also have a few hire bikes available at a cost of £5 per rider per session.

Mrs McLean will be delivering some Mastering Number Parent workshops over the next couple of weeks. Mastering Number is national program to help develop children's number sense and this will be an invaluable opportunity to experience what these sessions are like and some of the skills the children learn.
Your child will join you for the majority of the workshop, where they will show you some of the maths they do in class and you will learn how you can help at home. Following the workshop, resources will be sent home for five weeks worth of challenges.
It is really important then that each child has a relative to work with during the workshop. This can be a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, close family friend etc. If you really can't facilitate this, please let us know.
The workshops are on the following dates at 9am in the school hall. We would expect that the session would be finished by 10am.
Wednesday 12th February- Year 2
Wednesday 26th February- Year 1
Wednesday 5th March- Year R
Please complete this google form to confirm the name of the attending adult for your child's session. Each session is specific to that year group, so those with siblings will need to attend both sessions. Due to the nature of the workshop, we will unfortunately not be able to accommodate younger siblings.
These workshops have been successfully run at schools nationally so we how effective they can be in supporting parents to help their children.
Please note that we have amended our INSET day in June. It has been moved so that the school will now be closed to children on Tuesday 24th June. This is the date for the Scholars Educational Trust conference so it was important that we aligned with them. The original date was their provisonal date.
