The Department for Education have recently released their findings from an invesigation into the link between attendance and attainment for pupils at the end of Year 6. It has shown a clear correlation between attendance and how well children achieve in school. For every 5% drop in attendance, fewer children reached the expected standard at the end of KS2.
Well done Grasshoppers with our best attendance last week of 96.6%. Very close behind were Woodpeckers 96.3% and Otters on 96%. We are seeing a few more sickness bugs in school recently but hopefully we can get through tricky period without too many people falling ill.
Remember the easiest way to report an absence is through the Studybugs app.
We are hopeful that we will soon be joining the Scholars Educational Trust. Our expected join date is 1st May 2025 and we should know fairly soon whether that is confirmed. There won't be any noticeable change for children and parents when we change over but the support being offered to the school will be immediate.
This Friday is Comic Relief's Red Nose Day celebrating 40 years and we are holding a non-uniform day to help raise funds for the cause. We have set up a Just Giving page to help you make a contribution.

On Friday 7th March, we sent a Year 3 and 4 girls football team to a local event at The Vale Academy. The girls played short matches alongside some practice drills to help them develop their confidence and skills. The girls played well as a team, worked hard and enjoyed themselves and were a credit to the school. Well Done to:
Year 4 - Delina, Daisy, Sienna and Sophia
and
Year 3 - Elina, Pippa, Emka, Orla and Katie Ann
Last Monday we celebrated International Women's Day by learning more about some inspirational women. Each class focused on a different woman and her achievements:
Year R - Taylor Swift
Year 1 - Amelia Earhartt
Year 2 - Mary Seacole
Year 3 - Mary Anning
Year 4 - Emmeline Pankhurst.
Well done to all of the Year 4s who took part in the Bikeability session on Friday 7th March. They learnt to control their bikes safely and to be aware of their surroundings as they cycle. This all leads up to the later courses that children can take part in at Priory where they learn to be able to cycle on the road.
Well done to Oliver, Marcus, Xander, Johny, Tommy, Alexander, Yasmin, Aleyna, Jacob, Edward, Marcel and Shayan.
