TCAT Data Protection Policy

As part of the Tyne Coast Academy Trust, Walker Riverside Academy have adopted the Trust wide Data Protection Policy.

Tyne Coast Academy Trust (‘Trust’) aims to ensure that all personal data collected about staff, students, parents, trustees, governors, visitors and other individuals is collected, stored and processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018) as set out in the Data Protection Act 2018.

► An Appropriate Policy (for processing special category data) has been provided by Evalian our DPO service to complement the existing Data Protection Policy. The policy sets out how we protect special category data e.g. data related to protected characteristics and health data e.g. students requiring medication in the Academy.

WRA Publication Scheme

The Freedom of Information Act (2000) (FOI) requires all Public Authorities (including schools) to produce a register of the types of information it will routinely make available to the public.
