Team building for school: play and fun, building educators' communities

The course was held in San Cristobal de La Laguna in Tenerife. Our school is the space where teachers spend a lot of their time. We are supposed to contribute every day with support and professional programs to provide the best education for the future adults of the world.

Positive school climate, real cohesiveness, teacher collaboration, and motivation have a great impact on student approach to learning and outcomes. So it is our duty to work on positive school climate and teacher collaboration.

In Team Building Program for school we experiment with how fun and motivational activities can be inspirational for developing a sense of belonging and an atmosphere of community, tolerance, and team spirit, and for the improvement of communication skills.

Team building activities also create a climate of cooperation and contribute to collaborative problem-solving, develop empathy and trust in the group and in yourself, enhance creativity, and boost self-esteem.

Our psychologist Ksenija Ondrašek participated in this course at the end of July 2022. With her, there were other teachers from Italy, Hungary and Germany. It was a mixed group by years of experience, teacher profile and school types. From young beginner teachers to experienced teachers, from primary school teachers to college professors, this diversity contributed to the quality of work during the course.

We spent a few hours in the theoretical aspect of a Team Building program (group psychology, personality development, activity planning),

and present a series of fun team building activities around the city

and in the classroom.
