We have learned about the stories of The Road to Emmaus and The Breakfast on the Shore so far in our Easter work. Both of these stories the disciples shared food with Jesus and once again began to share in his life. During Holy Communion we share in the risen life of Jesus in a very special way. Although you have not received you first holy communion yet we can begin to think about why the Eucharist is important. Look at the sections of the Eucharistic prayer (below) and discuss an adult or your family how do the words of the prayer remind us that Jesus is with us in the Eucharist? Do you have an older sibling or other family member that has received First Holy Communion? Could you ask them about it?

Write a postcard to a friend as though you were one of the disciples. Tell you friend all about what happened on the road to Emmaus. Remember to tell them how you felt.

Cross Collages
Click the picture to see a Pinterest post showing collage crosses for Easter. All you need is some glue, different coloured paper and a pen.
Calvary Hill Wax Resist
Use the wax resist technique you learned on the creative curriculum page to create a picture of Calvary Hill. On the other side of the page you could write a prayer or retell the story of the crucifixion.

This Youtube video reminds you of the Easter story. You could watch it with your family. If you have a bible at home read the passages that tell the Easter stories and discuss them with your family.
Paschal Candle
You may remember learning about the Paschal candle in year 2. Do some research and draw your own paschal candle. Label all of the symbols and try to explain their meaning.
