Bidding you adieu my good friends.
January or February 1990.
In the miles so far, there was a forest.
Came there birds, all so modest.
Chirping and jumping with colors so many!
They did behave without difference of any…
All the way from far and near,
Yet, with little difference, so near and dear!
Even now I could hear,
Each little voice – so crystal clear.
Everywhere their melody sounding!
Every time I hear, my heart resounding!
They learnt and they played,
And lot of fun they made!
Nimble they were,
They moved everywhere.
Now that the birds have grown,
They are ready to leave the forest soon.
All the joys of four years –
Have gone, jerking them in tears!
But the birds know by heart,
That good friends have to part.
Parting only physically but,
By love they are unique and note that!
Let us pray the almighty to wish,
To keep all these birds in bliss;
To give them the lasting peace –
And break their sorrow into bits and piece.
I wrote this poem at the request of my classmates for the book that was released at the end of our four years of engineering studies in 1990. I did not turn 21 yet!
