The town which contains the Academy of Justice, it used to be a town consisting mainly of farm-dog Anthropomorphs and their farms of livestock and crops alike. Now, said farms mainly feed the Academy, and the inner city is walled apart from the farmlands. The Academy's higher-ups have more influence over the town than its own government, which causes much tension between the powerful Daiten and Mythical Academy students and the town's residents.
The town's own government is led by the mayor, Tetsu, and their second-in-command, Drac. Captain Rai oversees the town guard's operations, and focuses on protecting the farmlands and farmers. The FENCE is Rai's inner circle, an elite group used to investigate and defend against attacks on the outer farmlands. The Academy's presence protects the inner city and the merchants who take up residents there; tourists who want to see the Academy now make up a significant part of business.
Most of the crops produced get bought up by the Academy to meet its demand, and many of the farmers feel they have little choice outside of either selling to the Academy or risking travel to other cities just to sell. This dynamic serves only to worsen the dynamic between the townsfolk and the Academy.
Accepting only Daiten and Mythicals into its ranks, the Academy of Justice intends itself to be exactly that: a group that trains warriors for catching bandits, killing animals that are disrupting or threatening peoples' lives, and hunting to feed the needy. They also offer a range of other service-related education programs. Once part of the Academy (whether by choice or in the case of many Daiten, brought to life to be part of it) members are in for life, following the Academy's commands and serving the communities of the Northern Continent. In theory.
The Academy is led by Vale, a massive ascended Daiten whose imposing nature serves to reinforce the image of strength and nobility the Academy seeks.
Warrior: adventurer-guardian types, who travel around offering protection to those who need it, or other related services such as tracking down demons or Masked Beasts that threaten towns.
Hunter-gatherer: specialize in finding and/or catching food and distributing it to those in need, or to feed the Academy itself in many cases.
Medic: travelling medics who provide services wherever they stop to those in need, and often gravitate toward sites of battles (indiscriminately treating both sides' wounded) or natural disasters.
Alchemist: study substances and their properties and reactions, similar to modern-day chemistry but much more rudimentary. May study how magic works as well.
Botanist: studies plants and their properties as well as how to best grow them, focusing on medicinal and crop plants.
Zoologist: studies the wildlife of the Northern Continent and documents the information to release to the public in everything from pest control guides to identifying harmful and helpful wildlife.
Daemologist: exclusively studies demons and their raising, and the possibility of eliminating their soul forms as well to make it impossible to raise or pact with them.
