The towns of the continent of Halios are plagued by mysterious attacks, magical and bestial in nature. Those attempting to investigate them have to play games of kingdom politics and work against those who are trying, for one reason or another, to stop their investigations.
When the attacks are revealed to be the work an unheard-of union of Masked Beasts, led by the beast Lyn, it comes down the only other beast who's gained free will, Kalina, to stop her. Can an unwilling hero defeat the biggest threat Halios has known, or will Lyn and her army take over once and for all?

Kalina is a Masked Beast Protector, whose instincts guide them to find something worthy to watch over. Upon the tragic loss of their previous charge, they flee to another continent, where they find a new journey waiting... Winona is just an average student, subjected to horrible bullying. She starts seeing creatures of legend in the woods, and seeks out the monster herself... Their paths will cross and lead them to a fate neither could have foreseen.
