Halios is the name for both the northernmost continent and the kingdom that spans it. It also carries with it a wide range of biomes and ecosystems, with the northernmost reaches being arctic in nature, while it holds a vast expanse of desert to the south. In between lay grasslands and dense forests, with swamp to the east and several large inland lakes.
Areas along the southern border where the Halian tectonic plate meets the others may be prone to earthquakes, and the grasslands at the center of the continent are prone to spawning tornados. The desert is frequently impacted by dust storms.
Most notable about Halios is its megafauna, ranging from domesticated creatures like naturions to dangerous wild beasts. It also boasts a wide range of plant life both magical and non-magical, but its magical plant life tends to be higher than that of the other continents.
Currently, the continent of Halios is ruled under a single kingdom, also called Halios. That kingdom is led by a Daiten king, but several species within may have their own governing bodies, who have representatives that work with the king - notably, Deoge, Raporos, and dragons. The further from Crown City, the less strong the grip of the Daiten government and the more freedom other species have with themselves and each other. The Daiten king at the start of the story, King Yulison, has been ruling since the fall of Heaven.
Once, the continent of Halios was not unified. Different groups and cultures fought for territory, food, resources, and even just for the sake of war. That was before there were Daiten on the continent.
When Heaven fell, a group of Daiten crash-landed on the planet, leaving a massive crater in which they built their town, and eventually, their kingdom. They started as peacekeepers, and eventually united the entire land under their rule. Or, more specifically, the rule of King Yulison, who keeps his original companions close to him, even if their forms have... changed, perhaps.
King Yulison outlawed the eating of other sapient species and mediated territory disputes and wars, among other things, forcing his subjects into peace. Eventually, an Academy was established to train other Daiten in this work. The king, his kingdom, and the Academy all remain thousands of years later, to guide the continent through its upcoming turmoil...
