Diseases and Health

Diseases can be a sign of God's displeasure with  us

And He said, If you carefully listen to the voice of Jehovah your God, and do what is right in His eyes, and you give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will not put on you all the diseases which I have put on Egypt; for I am Jehovah your Healer.  (Exodus 15:26 LITV)

Sickness is not always a punishment

And Elisha had become sick with his illness in which he died; and Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept on his face, and said, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and its horsemen! (2 Kings 13:14 KJ3)

2 Kings 13:20-21 KJ3

(20)  And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of Moab came into the land, at the coming of the year;

(21)  and it happened, they were burying a man; and, behold, they saw the band, and threw the man into the grave of Elisha. And the man fell and touched the bones of Elisha, and came alive, and rose on his feet.

He who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases;  (Psalms 103:3 LITV)

And the report of Him went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all those were ill, suffering with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.  (Matthew 4:24 EMTV)

so that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities, and bore our diseases."  (Matthew 8:17 EMTV)

And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and He cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.  (Mark 1:34 EMTV)

and to have authority to heal diseases and to cast out demons.  (Mark 3:15 EMTV)

Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on each one of them and healed them.  (Luke 4:40 EMTV)

so that even handkerchiefs or aprons from his skin were brought to those who were sick, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out from them.  (Acts 19:12 EMTV)
