Example of a MudWing with the Earthscales mutation
Amphibious-scales: This mutation causes the dragon affected to secrete a slimy substance to ward off attackers. While it is slightly poisonous, it will not do much other than make the other dragon feel sick for a few days if ingested.
Stout: MudWings builds will be shorter than usual but much more prone to muscle. They move much more similar to gators and resemble closer to SeaWings in build. It makes it harder to fly and take off, but amplifies strength.
Needle Teeth: Instead of the larger teeth, they will have needle-like teeth like a long snouted caiman would. This will cause more teeth than average, and would also make it a little harder to eat compared to the average MudWing.
Hog Tusks: A MudWing will have tusks that jut from their teeth like a warthog. These can be used in multiple offensive cases and are great tools for digging sometimes. This also makes it slightly difficult to eat.
Two Spined: A MudWing, instead of having one line down their spine, will have two pairs similar to a Gators back. This does not affect the MudWing.
Porcupine Spines: Sharp porcupine spines line the back of these dragons. They are extremely hard and painful to remove if they get stuck in a dragon.
Ankylosaurus: Gives MudWings extra thick, plated scales and a club-like spiked tail.
Stegosaurus: Gives MudWings two lines of plates along the spine, their tail ending in spikes.
Storm instinct: When a storm is about to strike, MudWings with this ability are able to sense it, much like how leeches are able to.
Stonescales: Stonescales is a rarer condition where the affected dragon's scales are much harder and more durable than normal. They resist most weapons and even fire, although take longer to heal from most wounds. Their scales are very thick and often dull in terms of both color and luster. Due to the much heavier scales, affected dragons have difficulty moving and are often incapable of flight. In severe cases, the dragon is almost completely immobile.
Venom Spurs: An odd mutation where the hind legs of the affected dragon have small venomous spurs like a platypus. These spurs can inject venom when jabbed into an opponent's bloodstream, but have no serious effects except for long lasting pain. It's possible this first emerged from crossbreeding with Rainwings in ancient times.
Earthscales: A rare condition where the affected dragon's egg seemingly absorbed the mud around it and incorporated it into their overscales. Their overscales are almost mushy and plants can easily take root in them, making the dragon a living garden. As the roots of the plants absorb some nutrients from the dragon, the affected dragon needs to eat more than the average dragon in order to sustain itself.
Blood-red eggs: Dragons born from a blood-red egg have an extraordinary resistance to fire and burns, healing from them remarkably fast. This ability is amplified once the dragon comes in contact with mud, allowing them to heal from burns almost instantaneously. Their colors are usually much more vivid than the average MudWing. Molten Fire: Instead of just releasing fire, a MudWing will have a thick bubbly substance similar to lava that can only be shot in bunches. These dragons, similar to the blood-red egg, are resistant to fire. (giveaway only)
Springscales: The affected MudWing emits steam from their scales, like hot springs. Their scales are warmer than average. (giveaway only)
Dreidel: MudWings born with this mutation acquire keratin weapons on the tip of their tails that resemble the shape of dreidels. They can be used for defense, like on ankylosaurs, and can be decorated. (giveaway only)
