Cecil Turner's shop before he made the alterations to the front and side. The alterations consisted of removing the doors and incorporating a serving hatch with a bell 'for attention'.He made a door in the side of the building on Wharf Road which was used as a cafe.

The White Hart corner. Also known as the Bridge End. No footpath over the Bridge on the opposite side. Many people think the little black hut was Eyre's coal hut but that was on the Station Approach. This hut is Mrs. Pheasey's pie hut
This was a fountain to celebrate the turning on of mains water. There was another at Horwich End which can be seen in that album.

My Mother, Agnes Hulme, took this photograph c.1950, around the time we came to live at No.12 Canal St. The shop, no.10, was owned by Drinkwater's builders, we lived next-door-but-one at no.12, and later at No.11 which at some time had been part of the white house, Pear Tree Cottage - we had cupboards which had been connecting doorways. My mother lived in No. 11 until her death aged 90 in 2012. Above the doorway of Pear Tree Cottage were some curious carved stone heads. What happened to them?

Believed to be the original 'Shall Cross' dating back to Saxon times, this monument has been placed at at the lane ends just above Shallcross Manor, Whaley Bridge. The old stone cross which is surmounted by a sundial, stood for many years in the grounds of Fernilee Hall and was presented to the Chapel-en-le-Frith District Council by Mrs Ramsden Jodrell of Taxal Lodge. It was stated that the cross formerly marked the parish boundaries, probably in the place where it has been re-erected.
