This is Fernilee Reservoir showing the suspension bridge. When Errwood reservoir was constructed the bridge was removed, since there was no need for it. Where this photo was taken from may now be under Errwood dam

GOYT VALLEY

Comment by Alan Boothby

It is from this area of the Goyt Valley, known as the Paint Mill that Pickfords were supposed to have begun there business, carrying stone setts by mule trains to pave the streets of London.

Taken in 1931, you can just see Errwood Hall hiding in the trees in the background.

Masters Farm in foreground looking over Gunpowder works to Shawstile Farm on left? You can see the carraige drive wind through the photo across the valley up to Masters then away to the right. The Railway cutting is to the right of Shawstile.

Goyt Valley 1931. Comment by Alec Brocklehurst

I think this is Masters Farm by the bend in the carraige drive to Errwood. Stubbin Farm above in the trees. The Gunpowder Mills would be below.

Bunsal Farm in the foreground, Errwood Farm on the other side. Intake Farm is just visable to the far top right of the picture.
