Unit 3: Vectors

Major Concepts

• Understand that a vector is any measurement that includes direction (displacement, velocity, acceleration, force...)
• Understand that a scalor is any measurement that does NOT include direction (distance, speed, mass, time...)
• Understand how to use a scale drawing to solve two-dimentional vector problems
• Undersand how to use trigonometry to solve two-dimentional vector problems

For ALL vector problems:

• Include what direction north is
• Include arrow heads on ALL vectors (including the resultant)
• Label ALL vectors with magnitude (how large, with units) and direction (N, S, or 20 deg E of S)
