Senior Citizens includes one-on-one visits to residents at nursing homes, playing bingo with residents, community clean-up projects, special events for different holidays, and the Senior Prom, which is a dance true to its name. Volunteers not only gain enduring friendships but also invaluable insight into life.
Alison's vision is to create a space where students and senior residents can share stories, joy, and genuine connection. She wants this project to feel like a bridge between generations, where both sides walk away feeling seen and valued. Alison hopes that volunteers can help bring those stories back into the light through activities that spark conversation, creativity, and laughter.

Why my project is the best: "Senior citizens hold decades of stories and wisdom and our events create space for those things to shine. We’re not just showing up to entertain them but we’re showing up to listen, to learn, and to make sure they feel valued and connected. Every activity is shaped by what they enjoy most, from crafts to games to storytelling, so the experience feels like it truly belongs to them."
Why I love VIP: "I've always loved helping my community and with VIP, and with VIP, there is always something to do. I love the variety of events and the community. "
