Skim through a demo video of this project to gain inspiration
Watch contemporary artist Jesse Reno work in a style similar to ours, notice his use of layers, intuition, and mark-making
Work Time: Continue developing your abstract piece with intention and experimentation
Individual Conversations: I’ll check in with each of you to discuss your progress, ideas, and next steps
How well did we clean up last class?
This video is LONG, we are not watching it fully, however it is nice to click through and see how someone else attacks this project. Notice the areas that have been obliterated (covered) with paint . See how this artist fills those spaces in with experimental shapes, lines, colors...
Do you see something you like? Use it for inspiration in your own piece.
We will take about 3 minutes to click through and watch a few parts of this demo video now.
Let's watch a contemporary artist working in this style as well...

Art is about give and take, it's an active process. Let your actions shape the work.
Mistakes are part of the journey. Don’t be afraid to try something new, this is a space for experimentation.
We’re not aiming for realism. Focus on expressive abstraction and capturing emotion.
Let the artwork guide you. Follow the marks you make and see where they take you.
Document as you go. Record both successes and setbacks, they all help your process.
Art requires motion. Keep moving, keep making. It’s about responding, not perfecting.
Drawing is simply mark-making in space. Don’t overthink, just begin.
