We’re starting Project 1 today, get excited! As you begin, remember that documenting your process is a key part of your final submission. Photos and written reflections are required, but you can also think about other ways to show your progress (like sketches, voice memos, or time-lapse videos).
Take 5 minutes now to revisit the Digital Submission Requirements tab. Make sure you understand what kinds of documentation you’ll need to collect while working today and over the next few weeks.

Today we will reintroduce ourselves with old materials and maybe even learn about new materials. Today is a chance to play and explore with paint, YOU CANNOT MESS THIS UP. Have fun and don't be afraid to explore the canvas and materials in unique ways.

Respect the space and materials. Return everything to the condition it was in when you arrived.
Clean up after yourself. If you make a mess, take responsibility and clean it up.
Have fun and embrace the process. Don’t stress about mistakes, today is about experimenting and finding your flow.

Materials List:
Pencils (2 types: hard and soft)
1 Black Charcoal
Chalk Pastel (2 colors)
White Paint or Gesso (small amount)
Paint Color (1 color - small amount)
Brushes (2 total – 1 small, 1 large)
Painting palette
Apron
*Special note about hard v. soft pencils. 6H is a HARD pencil (so it writes light) - 8B is a SOFT pencil (so it writes dark/Bold)
