Continue working on our final Disco Ball painting
Complete your mid-point self-assessments and upload them to your digital portfolio as evidence of Communicate and Reflect skills
Painting Your Disco Ball
Use your value reference sheet (black & white disco balls) to help with light and shadow.
Use the Sari Shryack painting references for color inspiration and to see how highlights and reflections work.
Focus on:
Smooth brushwork
Clear value changes
3D effect by using light and dark tones correctly
Take Your Time
You’ll have several class periods to paint (about a week if your disco ball is 18”).
Smaller disco balls might take less time—work at your own pace but stay focused.
Cut Out When Done
After painting, you’ll cut out your disco ball.
This lets you paint all the way to the edge and keeps the final piece clean for display.
Mid-Point Check-In: Self-Assessments
At the midway point of your Disco Ball Painting Project, you must complete three different self-assessments to reflect on your progress so far.
What to Do:
Complete all three self-assessments (your teacher will provide the forms or prompts).
Be thoughtful and honest—this is about understanding your growth and process.
Add to Your Digital Portfolio
Upload all three assessments to your Digital Portfolio.
These will count as "Communicate and Reflect" evidence in your final submission.
