Building Reservations
The Rutland Civic Center-Village Hall may be rented for adult and youth sports, group or individual workouts and team practices as well as birthday parties, reunions, and more! To learn more about the Center's amenities and facilities, and to book your reservation, please utilize the information provided on this page.
The Rutland Civic Center-Village Hall has the amenities you, your family or your organization needs to successfully implement your event or program. When making your reservation, our Village Clerk will inquire of your party type, size and the facilities you will require. Additionally, when obtaining your key, the Village Clerk will provide a tour of the facilities to ensure the proper preparation takes place to render your event successful.
If your event requires audio and video assistance, our friendly staff are here to assist you. The Rutland Civic Center is equipped with the audio equipment necessary to ensure your sound is properly distributed throughout the gymnasium with four speakers and a microphone system and mixer system. Additionally, the Center is equipped with a projector and projector screen should any presentations be required. When making your reservation, ask our Village Clerk about our audio and video facilities.
The Rutland Civic Center Gymnasium is the largest community center gymnasium in Meigs County, offering a full, regulation-size court for sports practices, games and tournaments. The 7,200 square foot space is also convenient to accomidate large party sizes. The gymnasium features a full-court with basketball hoops, bleacher seating and a large stage with stage platforms.
The Rutland Civic Center-Village Hall is equipped with 32 rectangular tables, each with the capacity to seat six people; 12 round tables, each with the capacity to seat six people; and six serving tables. Additionally, the building is equipped with 264 chairs for seating.
If your event requires food preparation facilities, our Center's reservation package includes kitchen amenities. Appliances include a food warmer, microwave, popcorn machine, refrigerator with freezer and a stovetop oven. Additional facilities include a three compartment sink, countertop space and a food service area.
The Rutland Civic Center includes free public Wi-Fi for all guests.
The amenities of the Rutland Civic Center can be enjoyed through affordable rates. Fees associated with the below rates are assessed at the time of reservation, and can be remitted to the Office of the Village Clerk-Fiscal Officer via cash, check or money order.
The following rates are assessed for all reservations not made by qualifying youth sports associations, Village residents or Village businesses.

Youth Sports Associations
The following rates are assessed for teams associated, or part of, an organized youth sports association or organization, or public or private school, utilizing the Center for sports practice only.

Village Residents and Businesses
The following rates are assessed for individuals who reside within the corporation limits of the Village of Rutland, or for businesses located within the corporation limits of the Village of Rutland. To qualify for the discounted Village resident and business rate, the reservation must be made by the Village resident or business, and must be for an event of such Village resident or business. Building reservations are non-transferable.

Parking for vehicles is available in the front of the building along Civic Center Drive. A walkway leads from the parking area to the main entrance of the building. Handicap parking can be accessed along the south facade of the building, opposite of Dollar General along Civic Center Drive, from which a walkway leads to the main entrance of the building. A portable handicap ramp is also available for use if needed.

Please note, your reservation is not confirmed until payment has been received and your Application for Facility Rental and Lease Agreement is signed. If you are booking your reservation in person, you may sign your application and agreement, and remit payment of your applicable rates at that time. If you are booking your reservation by phone, your application and agreement will be signed electronically, with your permission, and you may remit payment of your applicable rates via credit or debit card.
If a confirmed reservation is cancelled by the lessee, the lessee must notify the Office of the Clerk-Fiscal Officer not less than 72 hours preceding the date and time at which the cancelled reservation was to originally commence. Provided such notification is made, the Office of the Clerk-Fiscal Officer will provide full reimbursement of any and all rates previously paid for the reservation. Otherwise, cancellations without proper notice shall result in a forfeiture, in whole, of all rates previously paid.
If you are renting the building for multiple occurrences, you may request a payment plan through the Office of the Clerk-Fiscal Officer to satisfy payment of your assessed rates. Adherence to the payment plan is required for continued use of the building. Any unapproved deviation from, or non-compliance with, a payment plan will result in termination of all reservations and a forfeiture, in whole, of all rates previously paid.
The facilities of the Center are inspected upon conclusion of the day of reservation. The lessee must ensure all facilities are returned in a clean, orderly manner without damage or defacement. Any uncleanliness, damages or defacement observed will be documented and will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit.
The security deposit, if not forfeited, must be obtained via refund from the Village Clerk at the Office of the Clerk-Fiscal Officer not more than three business days from the last day of the reservation. Otherwise, failure to obtain the security deposit refund will result in a forfeiture of the security deposit.
