START OF SEASON

  • Your season will begin when you receive access to your team on Team Snap. At the top of Team Snap you will see different tabs: Roster (you can view all the players), schedule (games and events will be uploaded by the convener), availability (see who will be attending game/practice), media (parents can upload team pictures), messages (email team from here and team chat available). Side note - Team Snap app also allows you to do these things.

  • Equipment pickup will be done in early May most likely at Maple Community Centre. You will receive bats, balls, a tee, a hammer, a measuring tape and a first aid kit. You will also receive a key that will unlock the box that contains the bases at your field. Please DO NOT LOSE THIS KEY. You will have to sign and acknowledge that you have received all of this and will return it at season's end.

  • Uniform pickup will be done in early May most likely at Maple Community Centre. You will receive 12 player hats, 12 player pants, 12 player socks, 12 player jerseys. The numbers on the player jerseys go from 1-12 (with the lower numbers being the smaller sizes). You will also receive 3 coaches jerseys and 3 coaches hats.

  • Please see below for a welcome email template you can use to send to your team. Replace the info inside the brackets.

Hello team!

Welcome to the 2022 Tee Ball Season.

We are (Team Name).

My name is (Peter) and I will be your Head Coach for the season. (Give a brief description of yourself like: Here is a little bit of my background. I have had a life-long love affair with baseball. I played and coached rep baseball in Mississauga for 10+ years. I have convened tee ball for the Vaughan Vikings for the last 3 seasons (including this season). I have also coached my son's (Matthew) teams the past 3 seasons as well I am coaching Matthew's Rep Rookie team this season. I also have a daughter (Delfina) who is on the team. The only thing I love more than baseball are my kids.)

I will be setting the snack schedule for this season. Under the assignments tab on Team Snap, you will be able to see who has been assigned to bring snacks for that event (practice or game). Please keep in mind to bring nut-free snacks. If you are assigned a day you can't make, please try to change with another parent, and let me know of the change.

Practices/Games will be (Saturday mornings at 9:30 mainly at Routley Park). We will be playing a few games at other fields, but all within Vaughan. Please try to show up by (9:30) at the latest. Our first practice is (Saturday May 25th). You can set your child's availability under the Availability tab on Team Snap. Please try to keep this as up to date as possible so we know whom to not include when creating the lineup.

Things your child will need: A glove, a helmet and cup (jock). A pair of shoes you don't mind getting dirty. We will have bats from the league and your child may bring their own bat, but keep in mind that as a team rule we must be able to share our personal bats.

Team Snap has a great feature that lets you post photos that you take at games or practices. These photos may be used at our End of Season Banquet. Please keep in mind that what you post on here can be seen by anyone on the team. To post a photo, click on the Media tab. I look forward to seeing some great action shots of the kids!

Team Snap has a really good app that allows you to do a lot of things like check the schedule and snack assignment, set your availability and upload photos. Give it a try and play around with it when you have time.

Lastly, baseball is a great game. The coaches and I would love everyone of the kids on our team(s) to walk away with the same love of baseball we have. We don't want to do anything that would take away from a child's experience. All we ask is that they try hard, listen and have fun. If you have any concerns or questions at all, please feel free to contact me.

Please reply to this email so that I know you have received this and are logging into Team Snap.

Let's play ball!
