HOW TO RUN A TEE BALL GAME

  • Home team normally sets up field - but if you are visitor and get there first PLEASE SET IT UP.

  • When batting, all kids should be wearing helmet with bats on the ground (only player to have a bat in hand is the batter), sitting in their batting order.

  • One coach at the plate, place the ball on the tee and helping the batter. One parent/coach should be at first base encouraging kids to run and reminding them where to run. One parent/coach should be at third base encouraging kids to run and reminding them where to run. One parent/coach should be watching the kids on the bench and sending up the next player.

  • Make sure to remove tee from home plate when runner on third is running home.

  • When on defence, all kids should be playing (6 in outfield, 6 in infield) with only the pitcher wearing a helmet.

  • One coach on the infield making sure players are paying attention and reminding them where to throw the ball. One coach in the outfield making sure players paying attention and reminding them where to throw the ball.

  • Suggestion: Outfield coach can run drills while other team is batting to avoid 6 kids getting bored.

  • End of game, players cheer for other team ("3 cheers for Team 1, HIP HIP HOORAY!") and go get snacks.
