Biography

Chapter 1: A sketchy start

Murdoch wasn't born a Fusion. When she was born, she was a plain and simple Rattata, living her life as a lab rat. Her name at that point was Marigold, for her love of flowers. 

She grew up surrounded by science, and was put through intelligence testing like many of her kind. One of the experiments the scientists were doing was trying to infuse Smeargle's signature move into other Pokemon so that they could learn any move. 

Marigold was one of those Pokemon. It worked. Sort of. She is able to temporarily learn any move she has seen in used, replacing her sketch move, but it only lasts for about a day before she forgets the new move and re-learns sketch. 

It also increased her intelligence significantly, giving her a mind for innovation. It wasn't long before she was able to escape the lab and get right out of there. 

She was able to free some of her family members in the escape. She's not sure if her family is still out there, but hopes they're ok.

Chapter 2: New life, New beginnings

Starting a life on her own was difficult at first, but eventually she got used to it. The thing was, she didn't really feel as though Marigold was really the name for her anymore. After hearing a trainer refer to their Umbreon as Murdoch, she liked the name so much she claimed it for herself. 

As she continued to explore, Murdoch continued to tinker, picking up scraps of metal and wood and stone and making things out of them. One of her favorite things to make are clocks and useless but interesting gadgets. 

Chapter 3: Enter, Team Rocket

Just as she was beginning to get used to living on her own, Murdoch encountered Team Rocket. She was passed by initially, since she had recently sketched smokescreen and used it to avoid being noticed. 

However, she found the Rocket Recruits to be interesting, and noticed that they had a Fusion Pokemon with them. Not having seen many like her, and wanting to learn more, she followed after them and presented herself as a volunteer to the Rocket Hideout.

And thus, she joined Team Rocket. 

Chapter 4: Motherhood

Time passed, and although Murdoch made some acquaintances, she never seemed to be able to form lasting friendships. That was before Darci. Now, Murdoch didn't like Darci. Heck, she almost resented that arrogant Meowstic. But at the same time, the two had a healthy respect for one another, particularly for one another's intelligence. 

Murdoch also befriended Pumpkin, in a way, and ended up being a pseudo-aunt figure to Pumpkin's adopted kids, Cassielle and Crowley. This gave Murdoch some much needed parenting practice before the parenthood she would later end up falling into with the arrival of a blue and pink egg with Plusle and Minun markings covering it. The babies that hatched were nothing special, just a Plusle and Minun. She loved them, naming them Luca and Leia. Then the worst happened. 

Luca and Leia were stolen away from her by humans from the same organization that had bred Murdoch and forced her into fusion, and in enlisting Darci's help, she was able to rescue them, but not before irreparable damage was done. Murdoch was so distraught that Darci had to tear out her ear tag to get her to respond. They did get mended by the sacrifice of a Porygon-2, but Murdoch will never forget the event. 

Later on, a young Alolan Rattata/Salandit named Ogden joined her family, latching onto Murdoch and begging her to let him learn from her. She figured why not just adopt the kid.
