Positive Traits
Intelligent - Kepler is a focused, well educated individual who knows a lot of complicated science… too bad a lot of that science is irrelevant here on Earth. Thankfully the problem-solving skills are translatable. It knows a lot of facts about things out there, and in general has a curious outlook on life that allows it to gather more information wherever it finds itself.

Dedicated - When Kepler is part of an effort, it puts its whole self into that effort. As part of a team, Kepler is unwavering in its loyalty and will commit its time and energy to whatever the goals of the team are, especially if it believes in the value and importance of the team’s goals.

Thoughtful - Kepler spends a lot of time in quiet contemplation, and pays a lot of attention to the world around it. It reflects deeply on things that happen to it, although this does sometimes leave it a little distracted as thoughts pile up and occupy its mind more than they should.
Serious - Kepler doesn’t really have the mental space for comedy or jokes, often struggling to understand when others joke around. It takes things literally and seriously in most cases. Kepler also treats situations seriously, sometimes getting frustrated when others don’t. 

Neutral Traits
Preoccupied - Kepler can sometimes be a little distracted, its thoughts elsewhere. A lot of the time, it is contemplating the people and places it left behind when it came to this place, wondering how they are and if they’re still alive. Sometimes, because of this, it may take a couple of tries to capture its attention.

Solitary - Kepler is not a particularly social individual, preferring to spend time alone. It frequently spends nights outdoors, staring up at the stars. It avoids large gatherings, and there are only a few people it actively seeks companionship from. Despite seeking solitude and avoiding people most of the time… it seems a little lonely.
Reserved - Kepler is not a particularly animated individual, preferring to keep its thoughts and emotions to itself. It doesn’t tend to express itself, and is fairly quiet. 

Negative Traits
Odd - Kepler behaves strangely quite frequently, taking actions which seem normal to it, but are weird or unusual to Earth natives. It hasn’t gotten used to the awkward looks, but has learned to be embarrassed when they happen.

Blunt - Kepler isn’t known for having much in the way of tact, and will say things as it sees them, whether it is time for such observation or not. This often leads to awkward situations when it was not, in fact, the right moment for that comment or observation.
Unrelatable - Kepler finds it very difficult to connect to Pokemon on Earth, with almost no frame of reference or commonalities between itself and them. 

Biography

Kepler was born far, far away, in the outer reaches of the solar system. Out there, beyond the planets, there exists a vast civilisation of Pokemon. It consists mainly of Pokemon known to the world as being from outer space, such as Clerfairy, Minior, Beheeyem, and others like them, but there are also populations of Pokemon that wouldn’t necessarily be expected, such as Eeevees like Kepler. Kepler’s ancestors ended up in space somehow, and their descendants quickly adjusted to their new habitats, creating new regional variants, henceforth referred to as Outer Space variants. The civilisation isn’t fully exposed to the vacuum of space, instead making their homes inside hollowed-out asteroids, and under domes on the surface of frozen planetoids. 

Kepler was born an Outer Space Eevee. It has the Psychic type, the ability to Levitate, and moves that allow it to interact with a zero-G environment. Its thick fur keeps it insulated in the unreliable environments, and its eyes are adapted to see in the darkness of space. Its small antennae allow it to communicate with electronics to a limited degree, as well as picking up radio signals. It is more lightweight than a regular Eevee its size, and can withstand higher-than-average G-forces. At the time of its birth, it was named Ylthix, and went by that name until recently. 

Ylthix was pretty content, growing up, but when it was still quite young, an evil team of Pokemon tried to take over the civilisation, imprisoning or killing a lot of Pokemon in the process. Ylthix joined a small group of other young Pokemon to rebel against the evil team. The rebel squadron was light-themed, with each member of the group having a nickname based on their main colour. The leader was Red, a Litleo. Ylthix was Green. The other members were Yellow, a Wooloo, Orange, a Tyrunt, Cyan, a Yungoos, Blue, a Rockruff, Purple, an Scorbunny/Venonat, and Magenta, a Cleffa. Ylthix loved its teammates dearly, forming close friendships with most of them - although it always butted heads with Cyan. In the end, the rebels succeeded in pushing the Evil team back and defeating their leaders, but a few of them were lost in the process, their ships hit by the enemy and struck down. 

Kepler was one of the casualties, its engine shot and leaking regulating fluid. It performed an emergency shutdown and put itself into cryo, setting up an SOS beacon and hoping its team would find and rescue it. 

…

They didn’t. 

Ylthix woke up, far from everything it had ever known. It was groggy for the first few minutes, adjusting to being awake and alive again after who knows how long in cryo. There was no hum of engines… why was it awake? It stumbled into its pilot seat and checked everything, examining the readings. It was still in space, not on a carrier ship or asteroid base. There was a gravitational body nearby… oh. It was stuck in the gravity well, and approaching said gravitational body. That was why the system had woken it up. It didn’t have to wonder which body it was falling towards, as the gradual spin of the small ship pointed it towards a vibrant blue and green and white globe. It was so… full of life. With broken engines and no way to stop the descent, Ylthix simply prepared itself for entry.

The entry itself was a fiery conflagration, much of the ship burning away, forcing Ylthix to hit the eject function and fling itself away from the burning wreck. It landed in a lake with a big splash, and was found/rescued by a cheerful purple Eevee named Timmy. After introductions were made and Timmy struggled to pronounce Ylthix’s name, it came up with the idea of a new name. It had been Green for a while, but that name had… baggage it was prepared to confront right now. So, it asked Timmy to give it a new name. Considering the fact that Ylthix was from space, Timmy suggested Kepler. Now renamed, Kepler followed Timmy back to his home in Rocket Hideout, excited to learn about this whole new world it was exposed to. It decided to stick around Timmy and Rocket Hideout, at least until it gets its bearings planetside. And who knows, maybe it'll like it here.
