RELIGIONS
WHAT RELIGIONS THINK ABOUT VEGANISM
Veganism in all the religions is based on the principle of nonviolence.
No use or consumption of products obtained from dead animals is allowed.
In Jainism vegetarianism is mandatory for everyone,
in Hinduism and Buddhism it is advocated by some influential scriptures and religion authorities.
Veganism and Judaism, Christianity and Islam
Comparatively, within the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam)
veganism is not promoted by mainstream authorities.
Vegan choices deliver three big advantages over their vegetarian counterparts:
- additional avoidance of animal mistreatment and slaughter
- reduction of certain health risks
- decrease of environmental footprint
