At 4-H Overnight Camp, we walk around doing many grounds pick ups, cleaning bathrooms, and sweeping out cabins. This helps keep our campground clean for other 4-H counties who may use the same facilities.
While on my trip to National 4-H Congress we were able to help out a local cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. There we layed down mulch and helped pull weeds around the graveyard. It was a beautiful cemetery and it was a lot of fun being able to learn about the history behind everything at the Historic Oakland Cemetery.
Each year my 4-H Club makes Valentine's Day sock "cupcakes" for our local Veterns Home. We wrap socks up into a fun colored cupcake wrapper and donate them to the Vetern's Home for Valentine's Day.
I organize Food Drives for our local food pantries so the people in my community who can not afford food for their families, can have food especially around the holidays.
I help repaint and repair the signs that help advertise our county fair. We wipe the signs down, repaint them to make them bright and appealing, while also repairing any broken signs that may have been damaged in the previous year. I was even able to design and paint my very own sign!
I assisted in teaching young field hockey players the fundamental skills and safety equipment used in field hockey. We taught them the proper way to use a field hockey stick and basic offensive and defensive skills.
I volunteer at the S.T.E.A.M. Festival with the Academy of Finance where we teach kids how to budget, needs verse wants, and counting coins.
