I joined Maryland 4-H State Council in 2025. I went to my first retreat in January of 2025. We went through many activities and leadership learning workshops. This team has given opportunities to expand my leadership skills such as working at Maryland State Fair, advocating for 4-H at Maryland Day, and work with people from all across Maryland to create activities and events for our state and counties to participate in.
State Council also gave me the opportunity to be the 4-H mascot at State Fair. This was a very unique experience because I would have never thought it would be so hard to move and that it would get so hot in the costume as fast as it did. Pictures I took with people at State Fair ended up on National 4-H's social media and it was so much fun to see people's reactions when they saw me. I have enjoyed this so much that it has lead me to get friends from local counties to join State Council with me.
