Poem on Area - A Majestic, Timeless Masterpiece

Area is the amount of space,
That takes up a certain place.
The place on the other hand, has to be flat,
Like a card and an envelope or even a mat!
Length times width or height times base,
This is the formula for a rectangular place.
You multiply base times height and multiply by half,
This is for a triangle, not a giraffe!
Take a side of a square and multiply it by itself,
This is for square shaped things like a napkin on a shelf.
This next one is a little bit tricky,
And it’s a long one so please don’t be picky.
Two bases is what a trapezoid has,
That’s cause it’s a shape with lots of pizzazz.
The first step of this process is base 1 plus base 2,
Now we only have one more thing to do!
Take the sum of that and multiply it by half of the height,
See we’re done with the trapezoid, we are doing all right!
The last shape we have is the circle, of course,
This is has been a long one and now my voice is kinda hoarse.
Radius squared times pi,
We are finally done, oh my!
