Math Bulletin Boards

If a Mathmagic Centre cannot be established, every school can start with a Math Bulletin Board. It can become a place for sharing ideas & news about math.

It would help students, teachers & parents realise that there are many dimensions & perspectives to math.

Ideally there should be Math Bulleting Boards for Primary (k-5), Middle (6-8) and High School, as the interests and the knowledge-level of students would be different.

Here are some ideas for the bulletin board.

1. Important days related to math

a. Dates associated with famous numbers (Pi Day)

b. Dates associated with mathematicians

2. Math in the media – newspapers, magazines, TV

3. Daily Math Problem

4. Puzzle of the Week

5. Information about math competitions & tests

6. Career information related to math

7. Math related to other subjects in school

8. Short notes on math concepts & procedures

9. Brief biographical sketches about famous mathematicians

10. Personal experiences with math

11. Short book reviews
