Our Coffee Morning is on the 1st Thursday of the month at 9:5 a.m. and is free. This gives
members the chance to meet up for tea/coffee and biscuits and a chat. It is also the ideal
opportunity to join and welcome new members. Group Leaders are on hand giving everyone
the chance to find out what our u3a has to offer and book any outings.
The 3rd Tuesday of the month is our Speaker Meeting. Doors open at 9:45. Refreshments are
served and announcements made, followed by the presentation by the speaker at 10:30.
The entrance fee for this is £2.
Dates for your diary
Unless otherwise stated, all the events listed are at St Teresa’s Social Club, which is our
home base. All are ticketed, apart from the thank you evening and the AGM.
March 26th – Social evening with entertainment by James Norton at St Teresa's.
April 16th – Group Leaders and Volunteers thank you social evening.
May 15th – Variety Group present a murder/mystery cabaret evening. A chance for the
audience to dress up as wedding guests!!
June 16th – AGM followed by entertainment from The Travelling Wrinklies.
July 2nd – Back to the 60s with Beatles tribute The Nowhere Men at Holland Hall.
September 24th - Hot-pot supper with Richard Hart at St Teresa's.
October 5 th -19th – Holiday to Egypt for those with a particular interest in Egyptology.
October 8 th -15th – Walking holiday in Andalusia.
December 10th – Christmas Party at Holland Hall wth Stars in Their Eyes heat winner Paul McCoy.
December 15th - Christmas Celebrations. Entertaiment by some of our own groups.
In addition to the events listed, many groups organize coach trips and events out-and-about
throughout the year. Details of these can be found in the Newsletter or via the group.
There is also the u3a Festival at the University of York 1st -3rd July and the North West Region
u3a Summer School at Manchester Metropolitan University 11th -14th August.
