Theatre Visits

The Theatre Group is a group that is open to all members. It provides the opportunity for everyone to have a trip to the theatre to see professional and amateur productions at a reasonable price, with transport to and from the venue, in the company of sociable “like-minded” people. There have been visits to all types of live performances which have proved to be very enjoyable, entertaining and in some cases “educational”; from Pantomime to Opera, Ice-skating and Musicals to Ballet. The trips are usually once a month and to a variety of different locations. The diversity of theatre performances available is something that we try to include in our programme and the shows chosen for the next few months promise to be as varied and interesting as previously. If you haven’t been to the theatre in the last twelve months, JOIN US, and experience a trip to remember.

Since Covid restrictions in 2019 put a halt on all theatre visits, we did in December 2021 have our first outing to the very popular annual performance of “Spirit of Christmas” at the Philharmonic Hall. Since then we have been to see “Jersey Boys” at the Empire, “Private Lives” at the Lowry and “9 to 5” the Musical at the Palace. Future trips planned are to see “Singin in the Rain” and “Guys and Dolls”,in May and June, and for something quite different “The Hot Ice Show” at Blackpool in August.

Most of the trips are in the evening and the transport by coach from St Teresa’s is included in the ticket price.
