Empathy Artifact

In order to understand global competency, teachers must build an understanding of empathy and perspective. This resource is a professional development opportunity that uses a TED Talk by Taiye Selasi to build connections between identity and empathy. 

This presentation is intended to be shared with educators to convey the importance of building empathy through understanding perspective. Since this is a foundation of global competency, connecting empathy to perspective will encourage students and educators to recognize that understanding where others come from and building routines into the classroom that promotes this is critical to empathy at the middle school and high school level.
