One of my first opportunities to reflect on my teaching exchange experience in Taiwan was at Wenzao Ursuline University. The English department had put together a panel for the teachers in Meinong/Kaohsiung to reflect on the similarities and differences between the American and Taiwanese education system. Many of the educators who I had learned from in the past week were invited, and they got to hear my takeaways and interpretation of their classroom and my experience there.
I worked to share my reflections on technology and social emotional development. After sharing my highlights, the educators continued the discussion with a Q and A section. Hearing so many different voices in the room, all dedicated to student growth and development on an international scale, was truly a memor

The Kaohsiung panel was just the start, however. Our Fulbright cohort reunited in Taiwan for another panel. This one had an even larger audience, with not only Taiwanese teachers but also Fulbright alumni and educators invited. I was able to finalize my reflections using my guiding question, and presented in a way that made it clear just how valuable global education is for all those involved.
At the conclusion of the conference, I was able to network with so many fabulous educators and those who are adjacent to the field. It is really worthwhile to know that so many people care about global education.
