For this practical exercise, recover the your own keychain design from TinkerCAD.
Previously You should have downloaded with stl format. Then open the slicer program installed in the computer called Repetier-host.
We will now see which parameters we can modify and how to obtain the GCODE file that we will export to our SD card for printing.
Before you begin, configure the printer. Click on Configurar impresora (in the top fight-hand corner) and complete the fields in the Conexión, Impresora, Extrusor and Dimensiones de impresión tabs with the data indicated by the manufacturer. Here, we can adjust parameters such as the preheat temperature of the extruder and the platform, print dimensions, etc.
We obtain the GCODE file from the STL through the following procedure:
Open Repetier-Host. Click on file and select the STL file you want to print (for example the key chain design)
Click on the Slic3r tab and then on Configuración.
In the first tab, Print Settings, select the appropriate print profile by choosing the type of material and quality (e.g. PLA - Calidad buena), which affects the height of the layer and, logically, the printing time.
In the second tab, Filament Settings, select the colour of the filament, which affects the fuser temperature (the melting temperature of the plastic)
Finally, in the Printer Settings tab, you can choose your printer profile.
Now that you have configured the print settings, click on Slice with Slic3r to generate the GCODE file.
Click on Save to file and save as D9_NameSurname.gcode and take a screenshot.
Upload both files to the aula virtual.
In case of printing save it You can now insert the card in the 3D printer and print the file.
