Sweet Home 3D is a free interior design application that helps you place your furniture on a house 2D plan, with a 3D preview.
Available at https://www.sweethome3d.com/, this program is aimed at people who want to design their interior quickly, whether they are moving or they just want to redesign their existing home. Numerous visual guides help you draw the plan of your home and layout furniture. You may draw the walls of your rooms upon the image of an existing plan, and then, drag and drop furniture onto the plan from a catalog organized by categories. Each change in the 2D plan is simultaneously updated in the 3D view, to show you a realistic rendering of your layout.
This guide shows you how to create a home with Sweet Home 3D version 6.6. After describing its user interface, you'll learn how to draw the walls of your home, and how to layout the furniture. In this project you will design in 3D environments. The plan of the building appears at the end of the page.
Open the program Sweet home 3D and create a new document call it D7_NameSurname. sh3d
The first step is to change units to meters.
Trace the distribution of the rooms of the house with the wall tool. To help us, we use the dimensioning tool to increase accuracy. First set the dimension line and then set the wall.
Creating walls, is possible to continue drawing until closing the outline or make walls individually. To stop using this tool click on the right mouse button. The dimensions and characteristics of any element such as texture, material, thickness height, length, dimensions, position, color angles... can be modified by double clicking on the element. The characteristics of the walls are the thickness of 10cm. In the other possible options choose your own preferences. The material, color, height, etc
Adding floor. This tool can automatically fill the rooms by double click, you will check how it is automatically filled. Like the other elements we can define the material and color to your choice.
The fourth step is to include windows and doors, for this we use the panel on the left. Select the element we drag and place it at the point chosen according to your criteria. You can make any modifications you want. Don’t forget the front door.
After construction of the house it is time of interior design. Decorate as you like imagine you were living there. Before furniture do not forget to close the lock to avoid possible movements and wall displacements. You can also modify all dimensions, textures, colors... whatever you can think of.
Finally we will export the project in three ways.
The first saving the practice as D7_NameSirname.sh3d
The second make a 3d photo by pressing the camera icon D7_NameApellidos.png
The third one is a video with the camera app:
Move viewer, person inside and press the record button for turn around for a 360º view
Save it as D6_Name Ellides.mov
Upload al the documents of the project to the Aula Virtual.
