TinkerCAD is an online 3D modeling program platform that includes Autodesk software tools that allow beginners to create 3D models. This CAD software is based on a solid construction geometry (CSG), which allows users to create complex models by combining simpler objects. As a result, this 3D modeling software is easy to use and is currently enjoyed by many, particularly teachers, children, amateurs and designers. ¡ In addition, it is free!
Before starting, register in the platform following instructions to create an account. In case you had one sign in your account, filling your email and password.
Complete first steps to know how to manage the program. This step is necessary to advance in later lessons.
There are two projects to complete. One is guided and the other is about your own design
The first project consists of following de video instructions modeling a miniom. After completing this task you will be prepare to use the most tools of the program.
You can see, stop and modify the video as many times as you want.
After completing the exercise dowload as D8_MiniomNameSurname.stl
Take a screenshot and upload to the aula virtual.

In this second project you can design and customize your own keychain. There are more designs to get new ideas.
ln his practical, we are going to learn some of the basics for designing in Tinkercad The purpose is to design a key ring that we can use in supermarket trolleys.
Once you have signed up, sign in with your username and password. You will see an image like the one in Figure. Click on Create new design (if this does not appear, click on All designs first).
On the right, you will see a menu with different options. Click on Geometric to bring up the different geometric figures
Choose the Box figure and drag it to the workplane. A red cube with sides of 20 mm will appear with a series of symbols around it. The white squares are used to change the dimensions (length, width and height). The small black arrow above is used to move the figure up on the workplane. The curved arrows can be used to rotate the figure on the main axes.
Change the dimensions of the cube: make its base 50 x 14 mm and give it a height of 2 mm. In the Inspector box on the right, select the colour green. Right-click to move the figure and make it easier to work with. To return to the original view, click on the house icon in the top left.
Now select the Cylinder figure and drag and drop it in the workplane. Move the white squares to resize the cylinder to the dimensions 23 x 23 x 2 mm.
We are now going to align the two figures. Position the cylinder on top of the rectangle. Select the two figures by clicking and dragging to create a box that contains both of them. Go to Adjust/Align in the top menu. To align the new points that you can see, click on the circle highlighted.
Create a cylinder of 5 x 5 mm. In Inspector, select Hole and align the hole as shown.
Select the three parts and click on Group at the top. This combines them into a single object and makes the cylinder cut through the key ring
Select Save from the Design menu. Go back to Design, select Download for 3D Printing and choose STL format. The file will be downloaded to your computer.
Modify the design as much as you want.
Save it with the name D8_keychainNameSurname.stl
Take an screenshot and upload to the aula virtual.
Now you can create a free design keychain. This project is what I will mark. And the best of the class would be printed.
Save it as: D8_MydesignNameSurname.stl
Take an screenshot of the design.
Upload the 6 documents to the aula virtual
