Things To Know. . .
Capital City: Khansburg
Ruler: King Theon Naeryndam
Main Religion: The Creed of Yllandor
Thalsiden is believed to be a barbaric land by many. The kingdom lays on a peninsula, separating it from the main continents. This also means that most of Thalsiden is exposed to the harsh seas, and doesn’t have much direct contact with other kingdoms. The people of Thalsiden lived secluded from the rest of Tilia for centuries due to their geographical disadvantages, but that caused them to turn to two options: creating their own, entirely independent economy, and theft. Many turned to piracy, creating the belief that all Thalisdenians are thieves and barbarians.
Meanwhile, in the mainland, the common folk worked in their own mines, fields and farms, coping with the cold, harsh climate of the region, all to make up for their lack of trade with the other kingdoms. Although the kingdom is ruled by a king, there are many clans that were formed, where lords rule over smaller castles, farms, or sometimes even entire villages.
Because of the people’s focus on work, many of them hardly focused on their education due to lack of time and money. Despite all misfortunes, however, Thalsiden is a beautiful land, with many stunning cities and settlements of all sorts.
Its capital, Khansburg, is its largest settlement, and its main trading port. It is greatly developed and although its streets are often snowy and cold, the people in it are welcoming enough. Even the kingdom’s largest cities do tend to have very few markets and shops, since most people make and find most things for themselves, from food and clothes to shelter and weaponry.
The people of Thalsiden are often easy to recognize thanks to their great height and strange, dark sense of humour, as well as their clothing which is often made of pelts and loose fabrics. Most folks are great sailors, due to the conditions they were raised in, and even greater warriors.
