Things To Know. . .
Capital City: Yharsa
Ruler: King Jhaeros II
Main Religion: The Creed of Yllador
Maldera is the land many foreigners deem forsaken, stretching out in the northern parts of Tilia. The kingdom mostly covers mountain ranges and immense valleys, making it a harsh environment for humans.
Anything but human, however, is able to thrive in within it without an issue. It is known as the home of dragons and a goldmine for all magic seekers, which is why many sorcerers travel North to seek out higher education. Despite most people’s beliefs, Maldera is quite a wealthy land, and its settlements and wilderness are both breathtaking sights of intricate architecture as well as nature at its finest.
Yharsa, the capital of Maldera is the busiest place in the kingdom, where humans, and non-humans live in harmony. The city stretches out from the base of a mountain, where the city walls meet the surrounding villages and wilderness, to the peak, within which lays a stone castle. Other cities and villages are most close-knit communities of similar creatures, so it is not unlikely to find a settlement made up entirely of giants, a mere few miles away from one made up entirely of humans.
Many non-human creatures have roots back in Maldera, and humans are generally recognizable thanks to their black hair, dark eyes and light complexion, all due to the harshness of the climate they live in. Over the centuries, Maldera has been in a close competition with Ardania, which caused many wars to spark between the two kingdoms, and a constant tension between the two royal families. It was only in recent years that the regions have been at peace for long enough to begin trading again, yet many Malderans frown upon Ardanians, deeming them inferior, be it for their lack of diversity or the simple nature of their lives
