Things to Know. . .
Capital City: Glaasa
Ruler: King Sarfiel Lazare
Main Religion: Order of the Daveshii
Akthala is a terribly wealthy region and the biggest trading partner of all other regions of Tilia, being a producer of spices, fine clothing, books and jewels.
Most of the kingdom is made up of endless deserts, but the regions that border seas and oceans have developed into modern cities full of life and wealth. Akthalan cities and districts are usually ruled by a governor, known as a warden. The wardens are in charge of local politics yet they all answer to the king. These nobles are usually the heirs of families trusted by the King, yet in the case of misconduct, a new warden from a different noble family may be elected with the help of the royal viziers.
Some areas are more welcoming and well kept than others, as it is not unlikely to find corrupt rulers of sorts. The streets of most cities, however, are a colourful, lively sight, with fabrics and jewels placed on display by merchants, musicians and dancers displaying their art at every corner, and the constant chatter of tourists. This is also the case for Glaasa, the capital of the kingdom, which is, undoubtedly, the grandest sight it has to offer, and is said to be one of the most beautiful sights in Tilia. There, palm trees, rivers, sandy dunes and settlements nearly piling on top of each other meet to create an image many can only dream of beholding.
The commoners of Akthala are generally simple, religious and kind people, but because of the large size of the kingdom, groups differ greatly from looks to their way of living. Some are known for their nomadic lifestyle, travelling their whole lives, while others prefer the life of cities and settlements. Akthala is hardly ever involved in wars because of how useful its trades are to the rest of Tilia, and the wars that did involve the kingdom were mostly caused by religious disagreements.
