Civilizations in Tilia date back to 60,000 years before the present day,. Since then, many have risen and fallen, going through different ages. The oldest of civilizations are those of the elves, their ruins still being seen to this day throughout the land. Other civilizations were quick to follow, raising and staying strong, or remaining forgotten in history.
The only civilization that truly matched the elves rose to power about 20,000 years ago: Humans.
They had similar physical qualities to elves, but were much weaker, at first not seeming like a threat. For what they lacked in strength and lifespan, however, the humans made up in perseverance and intelligence. This eventually led them to take over Tilia and push the elves away into their own, dying kingdom. That was when the Tilian Empire was created- a mix of all the regions of Tilia ruled under one power.
This was sure not to last and, due to the immense size of the land, the Empire eventually began to decentralize. The power was spread out to a number of governors, all of which had to care for their own region. From that point on, however, tension rose and wars began to spark between the regions.
Two thousand years before the present day, these wars led to the complete shattering of the Empire, and the formation of Kingdoms. The governors became the Kings of the First Kingdoms: Ardania, Akthala, and Maldera. Now, the elves have retreated into the Kingdom of Flavien, an island that had never made it into the Tilian Empire. Ardania, Akthala, Maldera and Thalsiden are mostly at peace, all of them having gained numerous colonies throughout Tilia. Thalsiden, having a tribal structure until recent years, only became a kingdom recently, much later than the continental regions. Cidaris, an island that was not discovered until the last few centuries, became the trading center of these Kingdoms, where they can all be at peace for the sake of their interests
