Powderpuff 2021

by Evan Yanoff

This year's Powderpuff was a great experience with a sizable amount of juniors and seniors participating, and it was the first win for the juniors in ten years! Starting off with a junior kickoff, the juniors managed to score a touchdown relatively quickly. Although the score ended at 7-0 in favor of the juniors, both football teams enjoyed playing. Powderpuff is great because it brings together underclassmen to support each grade and team. There were a total of four quarters, ten minutes each, and the halftime show was the boy cheerleaders' choreography. There was an extensive deal of crowd support for both cheerleading groups, but an overwhelming amount of it went to the juniors because of their enthusiasm for difficult choreography.

Powderpuff was not difficult to practice for, in case any upcoming juniors or seniors would like to participate next year. There were a total of three one-hour practices to prepare the cheerleaders' choreography and train the girls for football. I, as well as the rest of this year’s participants, encourage as many people as possible to sign up for next year's event as it is a great opportunity to bond with your grade and an occasion to have fun.
