Hackettstown's Drama Club has faced many hardships over the past four years, from losing their stage, and taking their show on the road by offering virtual performances, it has not been easy. However, the new year has been the start of something new as they prepare for their upcoming performance. This year's spring musical was Sister Act which showcases a woman hiding in a convent and helps the nuns discover their voices as she soon begins to uncover her own.
Senior, Riley Ferguson, plays the leading role of Deloris, a woman placed in the witness protection program. When asked about her journey over the past few years she responded, “While I am so happy that I am finally getting a musical on our home stage, I am also incredibly thankful for the experiences I have had!”
Additionally, freshman Grace Bielski, who plays the role of Mother Superior exclaimed, “I’m super excited for the show! It can be a little stressful but the family makes it worth it.”
This group of actors has grown a close connection with one another, spending many hours rehearsing together after school. Junior Ellie Prendergast, who plays the role of TJ, is “excited to show the chemistry the group has on stage."
The Hackettstown High School Drama Club was thrilled to open their curtains once again as a live theater on the stage beginning April 28th at 7 pm for their production of Sister Act!
