2018 iN review

Ella Mai could be described as one of the most prominent rising artists of 2018. Her single, "Boo’d Up", became very popular, and this album only brought her closer to the top.

Her music can range from having smooth instrumentals to catchy R&B beats. She also uses a sort of log or journal perspective on her songs, since she sometimes speaks near the song’s ending. If you are into songs regarding love (the good and bad experiences of it) and you are a fan of the R&B genre, give this album a listen.

It is impossible not to have heard this song. As usual with her music, the single "Thank U, Next" quickly rose to the top, ranking #2 on iTunes charts.

Ariana sings about how she has grown from past experiences with her exes. She is thankful for these experiences, as they made her grow into the person she is now. Even if you are not a big fan of her, this song will surely get you to bop to it.

His mix-tape is full of bright beats and lyrics about making dreams come true, doing the title, Hope World, justice. Even with a bright and hopeful theme, he does not forget to flex on the haters. Even if you do not understand a word he is saying, the overall energy will make you nod your head.

Ah yes, one of the most popular movies of 2018. The movie that gave birth to plenty of Thanos memes and other memes (we do not want to give any spoilers)! In addition to the series, audiences see their favorite heroes team up again to not only save the Earth, but the whole galaxy from Thanos’s plan of securing gems that represent different aspects of the universe known as the Infinity Stones.

You will still be able to understand the plot, even if you do not follow Marvel as closely as others. The combination of different characters makes the movie enjoyable to watch and eases you into the events. Once you watch it, maybe you will understand what we mean by other memes.

The first movie was enjoyable for most people, regardless of age, with so many references to classic video games and interesting characters. The first movie solely focused on arcade games, but this time, Ralph and Vanellope travel through the internet.

It was really amusing to see the appearances of websites and apps that are of everyday use and the new characters Ralph encounters on the journey. We should warn you though, it does get really cheesy. It is a Disney movie and it focused on a message of friendship, so you combine the two and you get this film. Even with that, the movie was still fun to watch. Make sure to watch it with your younger relatives!

Imagine being in a relationship with someone who is considered one of the country’s most eligible bachelors and that their family is extremely wealthy. That is what Rachel Chu was surprised with when accompanying her boyfriend, Nick, to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. While there, she must contend with jealous socialites, quirky relatives, and worst of all, Nick’s disapproving mother.

The film had drama that made you root for the main character and sympathize with her as well. It also had comedy that lightened the impact of the drama and the situations Rachel was faced with. If you need drama that you do not experience in real life and something to make you laugh, this one is for you!
