What a fun first day of STEM! Today's activity introduced students to their engineering notebooks (if students did not have theirs yet, they were able to use a lined sheet of paper) and shown how to use them (they were given some guidelines, but really they are free to keep notes & drawings of their activities as they wish)!
Our activity today introduced a hypothetical "problem" which was that they were airplane companies and needed to provide their client an airplane that would fly straight and far. They were given parameters as to what materials they could use as well as a time limit. Students worked together in small teams, were able to test and measure the distance of their airplane creations, problem solve, and have fun in the process!
