Hello STEM Familes!
Today's class was full of fun as we took a small break from our Caterpillar Automata projects (as half of our class brought their shoeboxes and several were absent), and we built mini catapults! We learned about the history of trebuchets, what they were used for, the simple mechanism of them (levers), and potential and kinetic energy! After building our mini catapults, students tested them out by launching mini candy corn pumpkins to see just how much force these mini launchers packed!
We wrapped up class with some decorating of our Caterpillar Automata's before dismissal!
p.s. 2 out of 4 of these pics were posed..can you guess which ones? We have some comedians =)
