The 997S runs slightly bigger
For normal and narrow width feet, go down half a size from your true size (ie I am a true size 9.5 with normal width so I buy my 997Ss in a size 9)
For wider width feet, go true to size (ie I am a true size 9.5 with wide width feet, so I buy my 997Ss in a size 9.5)

The 997S is much more comfortable than the traditional 997. It has a good amount of stability, support, and cushioning. Unfortunately, the midsole and outsole are pretty flat, so it isn't the most comfortable New Balance model out there. It's still pretty good for a lifestyle model.
The 997S features a combo of both ENCAP Reveal and ABZORB.
