ABZORB midsoles are responsive and absorb impact through a combination of cushioning and compression resistance. This combination allows great comfort and cushioning without being overly soft and squishy. ABZORB won't easily bottom out like other super-soft foam technologies. While ABZORB has good compression resistance to prevent it from being overly soft, it is nowhere near as supportive and stable as ENCAP.
ABZORB can be found on a variety of New Balance lifestyle and performance models. Unfortunately, it doesn't feel the same on every silhouette. The comfort of the shoe is not only based on the technology used, but the overall shape and size of the midsole and outsole too. There is a huge difference between a more flat midsole and a more form-fitting midsole.
