Sand Crystals (SC) are a spendable in-game currency in Thalassia's Edge! In univerese, they take the appearance of large particles of sand that glisten and take on a shimmery hue. As many nerokata love to collect shiny things, they as a society have decided to make these particulates their main form of currency! Once found everywhere along the rocky grounds of Thalassia's Edge, the main place that nerokata can find more Sand Crystals is in The Abyss. Abyss Diving, as a result, is the main method of gaining SC.
Sand Crystals are most commonly used at the Sand Crystal Shop in the group's Discord, but prices for items can also be found here. Sand Crystals are used to buy an assortment of things in the group if players don't want to or can't afford to buy in USD! MOST things in the USD shop can also be found in the SC shop.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Nerokata eggs
- Sand Dollars
- Abyssal Pearls
- Escape Orbs
- Sea Navs
In the future, the SC Shop will also supply the following:
- Abyss Fragments (transfer slots)
- Pebbles (breeding slots)
- Various breeding items
- Pet vouchers
- ???
Sand Crystals can be found almost exclusively by sending nerokata Abyss Diving!
EVERY Abyss Dive you send characters on will get you anywhere between 50-200 SC, which will be automatically added to your balance in our Inventory spreadsheet. While each nerokata can only Abyss Dive one time a week to be safe, you can send as many individual nerokata to dive as you'd like- you can even borrow a friend's if you run out! Just make sure you get their permission first.
It's worth noting that an Abyss Dive will NOT grant you more than 200 SC, no matter how many nerokata you send in one party. Aka, more narokata sent down in one party does NOT mean you'll get more SC out of it. While there's safety in numbers, if you're looking to specifically grind SC, it's better to send them down one at a time.
If you have further questions about SC, feel free to drop by our questions channel in the Discord!
