Capabilities for video and video are limited, Snagit is best suited for working with still images, GIFs or "quick and dirty videos" .  A desktop only application.  

I had a learning curve when I first started getting comfortable with the guides to select the screen area, but once that was mastered everything else has been fairly easy.  Hotkeys can be configured to pull up the recorder with any shortcut, and the top toolbar can be customized for the tools and commands you use the most.
