Teams is an all-in-one communication hub with messaging, unlimited set up of different groups/teams, cloud stoarge of shared documents, video calls, large group meetings and webinars,
Launched in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. It is not one of the most powerful and profitable companies in America. Office was first crated in 1989, and Teams came out in 2017. The pandemic helped Teams soar to new popularity and is very commonly used in a wide variety of fields for business communication.
Microsoft tools can be very good for training because there is a high level of familiarity with them among professional learners.
Use Teams for a wide variety of communication and collaboration needs: individual chats, team chats, shared documents that are automatically stored in the cloud when shared in a chat, integration with Microsoft Outlook calendar.
SharePoint sites can be created for resource hubs if you need a page that is outside your organization but still "invite only"
On a video conferencing level, Zoom has more options for arranging the views and interacting with content than Teams.
Multiple versions of documents can get created because they can be shared or stored locally. Sometimes there are just too many options.
Microsoft has the advantage of being wa platform that has been imitated by many that came after it, so many of the tools and functions are familiar to users.
The "help"
The "help" menu/ or magnifying glass icon, on the online document apps (word, Power Point, excel) is the first place I turn when I'm trying to find help. You will get a variety of help items.
The level of support beyond that will depend on your organizations subscription.
There is a free version with limited access. The individual subscription is $99.99/year, or $9.99 per month. There are also many other price levels and options for education, small businesses, enterprises and frontline workers
